Keys for Science Hall
Procedure Statement
This procedure outlines the steps for requesting, obtaining, and returning keys for the Science Hall building and specific offices, student lounges or storage areas.

Procedure Detail
The requester will determine what building/rooms access is required.
The requester will send an email to the Dean's Office Business Manager, rkhiggins@wisc.edu, requesting keys for the required building/rooms.
The Dean's Office Business Manager will let the requester know when the keys are ready to be picked up in the office.
A key issue form will be read, completed and signed by the requester with the Dean's Office Business Manager as a signature witness.
If keys are lost or stolen, the key-holder must inform the Dean's Office Business Manager in a timely manner. The key-holder may be responsible for the expenses incurred in changing locks and reissuing new keys.
The key-holder shall return all keys in a timely manner to the Dean's Office Business Manager upon termination of employment with the Nelson Institute or when building/room access is no longer needed.
Roles and Responsibilities
Requester and key-holder: responsible for requesting keys to the building/rooms where access is needed; protecting issued keys from being lost or stolen; returning keys upon termination of employment with the Nelson Institute or when no longer needed.
Dean's Office Business Manager: responsible for issuing keys to requesters; maintaining key management system and accountability for all keys issued; liaison with campus lock shop.
