MFA VPN Transition January 6-9

To improve the security of our VPN and comply with UW-System Administration policy, we will be implementing Multi-factor Authentication for our VPNs that are capable during the week of January 6th, 2025.
Instead of being prompted for credentials by GlobalProtect, a browser window will open, prompting you to log in through the normal College of Engineering Web Login. You will then be prompted for Duo, similar to other college applications. All other functionality is unchanged.
Current Transition Status:
- License VPN: Transitioned 1/7/2025 11:45AM
- Collaborator VPN: Transitioned 1/7/2025 Noon
- Full/Split VPN: Transitioned 1/8/2025 1PM

Checklist for readiness:
• Activate CAE Duo: CAE Duo - Overview of MFA DUO in Engineering (If you do not activate ahead of time, you will be enrolled during the login process, which may be inconvenient.)
• Ensure your computer’s GlobalProtect client is updated to at least version 6.2.4 on Windows or Mac or version 6.2.0 on Linux. For instructions on how to check and update see: CoE - Upcoming VPN MFA Changes
