Fiber Connection from Capitol to Wisconsin Public Television

The history and details of a fiber optic connection between Vilas Hall and the State Capitol for the purpose of television transmission.
Wisconsin Public Television needed a fiber optic connection from the State Capitol to Vilas Hall to allow them to provide live television coverage of events like the Governor's State of the State speech at the Capitol. WPT had used a microwave system for this coverage, but construction of high-rise apartment buildings would block the path for the microwave.
