WAF Account Setup

University employees should contact help@doit.wisc.edu to request a WAF account.

  2. Click Start -> All Programs (or Programs) -> Accessories -> Communications -> Remote Desktop Connection
  3. Under Computer: enter windowsaccess.doit.wisc.edu
  4. If you plan on printing to a local printer, click on the triangle next to "Options". Select Local resources and check the Printers box. This should make your printer visible from the WAF server.
  5. Click Connect to start the WAF connection. The WAF server now uses NetID authentication. Enter your NetID and password at the prompt.  NOTE: your NetID should be preceded by "ad.wisc.edu\"
    • User name: ad.wisc.edu\NetID

  7. Click on the new connection to highlight it, then either double-click the name or click on start to connect
