L&S 8-Page Newsletter Template [Updated 2018]
The following .zip file contains Adobe InDesign documents (.indd 2016 and .idml), along with the embedded font files and stylesheets, logo files, and color profiles for creating an on-brand, 8 page newsletter for a College of Letters & Science affiliated unit.

The template includes layouts for different kinds of content, such as 200-300 word pieces, a 600 word center-spread feature story, book listings, and a question and answer piece. You are not required to adhere to these examples and layouts, and may move content around as needed for your specific newsletter. Please consider this document as a jumping off point for your own work, rather than a hard and fast content road map.
These files are intended for units who have staff members with graphic design and layout experience, and Adobe InDesign access and expertise. While we are happy to answer questions about newsletter content and best practices, we are not equipped to offer instruction in InDesign or any other Creative Suite program.
Template PDFs [UPDATED 2018]
You can download and view PDFs of the template at the following links. The layouts include word counts and potential layout ideas to help visualize story length, photography, and more. Please note: These PDFs are NOT design templates. They cannot be edited or used to create a newsletter, and are intended for example purposes only.
