VoIP - General Information

This document provides a general overview of VoIP.

VoIP, or Voice over Internet Protocol, is a technology that enables people to use the Internet as the transmission medium for telephone calls by converting voices into digital signals.

The DoIT Help Desk does not support any VoIP services, but information about how this technology works, as well as equipment requirements, can be found on the website for the Federal Communications Commission.
