Unizin Engage - Known Issue - Unizin Engage displays login information when going to a saved bookmark for eText

A saved bookmark for a Unizin Engage eText displays a username and password prompt which the user is not able to login to.

When a user saves a bookmark for an eText in the Unizin Engage tool and then goes back to the bookmark it may display a username and login page like this:
A screenshot showing a Unizin logo with an "Email Address" and "Password" field along with a "Sign in" button.
The user cannot login with their netid to view the eText. Instead the user must login to the Canvas course to access the Unizin Engage eText material.

Affects

This will effect users who bookmark a Unizin Engage eText.

Status

As of 9/21/18 this issue still exists.

Workaround

Users must access Unizin Engage eTexts via the Canvas course:

  1. Login with your netid to Canvas: canvas.wisc.edu
  2. Click on the link or the course card for the course using an Engage eText.
  3. Click the Engage eText link in the course navigation:
A screenshot showing a Canvas course menu with the cursor hovering over the "Engage eText" menu option.
  4. This should load a new tab with Unizin Engage and your eText. If a new tab does not open you may need to click on the purple Launch Unizin Engage button that appears in Canvas.
