DoIT Shared Tools - Accessibility and Usability Information and Reporting
Reporting Accessibility Issues
To report an accessibility or usability barrier, email st-help@doit.wisc.edu. This will start a request with the Shared Tools team.
We will:
- Confirm receipt of the request
- Share any known workarounds or resources
- Report the issue to the vendor
- If possible, confirm when improvements are made
Accessibility and Usability Information by Vendor
For each vended solution, we list their accessibility programs, goals, and any known barriers.
Evaluations are performed when:
- A new product is selected
- After a major version upgrade
- When significant user interface changes are made
Atlassian (Jira and Confluence)
Atlassian has an overview of their commitment to accessibility, a Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT), and process for reporting accessibility concerns.
Known usability and accessibility barriers for:
GitLab
GitLab has a Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT). GitLab addresses usability and accessibility barriers using their request and bug process. These issues are labeled "product accessibility".
A digital accessibility evaluation of GitLab will be completed in 2024. We recently performed a major version upgrade. User feedback was used to improve the left sidebar design, navigation, and other features. Read more about the new interface.
