GitLab proposed new pricing models for paid enterprise education license use. The Shared Tools team invited all DoIT GitLab instance users 30-60 minute survey regarding the DoIT GitLab instance (git.doit.wisc.edu) by 5:00 p.m. 11/23/20.

Everyone who has a DoIT GitLab account received a request to complete a survey. The results of this survey will help to inform decisions about DoIT’s future GitLab licensing needs.

Prior to taking this survey we recommend each individual:

  • Evaluate the benefits of GitLab for you and/or your team (time saved, money saved, increased productivity, etc.)
  • Review the key projects you have hosted in GitLab
  • Determine your current service tier, feature needs, and how they relate to your future needs (DevOps Life cycle)

In order to complete this survey, individual will need to:

  • Confirm that you use git.doit.wisc.edu (Yes)
  • And/or indicate if your unit/department/school has its own GitLab instance (Yes/No)
  • Confirm your use cases for GitLab (academic, administrative/enterprise, personal)

Next, you will answer a series of optional questions. We would appreciate you answering as many questions as you can. Please feel free to skip any questions that may not apply to you as an individual or your team.

Note: For a neutral answer or “0” to register as a response, you need to select a slider, move it from “0” and back to “0”.
