GitLab (git.doit.wisc.edu) Upgrade to v19 Planned on 7/21/2026

GitLab will be unavailable on Tuesday, July 21, 10:00-11:59PM while the upgrade from GitLab 18.11 to 19 is performed.

What should users do?

• Familiarize yourself with GitLab 19 Key Improvements and Breaking Changes

• Prepare to update any GitLab runners you manage to major version 19.  Keeping your runners in the same major version as the GitLab instance avoids potential problems 
  
  
• Refer to the outage notification for any updates during scheduled maintenance

• Contact the Shared Tools team with any questions by emailing help@doit.wisc.edu
