DoIT Shared Tools - GitLab - Deletion of Inactive Projects
Owners and Maintainers of the Project will receive an email notification from GitLab 2 months prior to deletion. To prevent the Project from being deleted, you can take any action that adds an entry to the Project's activity log.
For more on finding the date of a Project's last activity, see https://docs.gitlab.com/ee/administration/inactive_project_deletion.html#determine-when-a-project-was-last-active.
You can find any Projects of yours that are scheduled for deletion by clicking Projects on GitLab's left menu, accessing the Inactive tab and looking for any Projects marked Pending Deletion. Taking an action in a Project might not remove it from Pending Deletion immediately. A nightly process might need to run first, to remove it from the deletion list.
Note that the Records Management Program classifies GitLab Projects as Project Records, which means they must be retained for at least 5 years after project completion ("last activity" in GitLab terms).
