WiscVPN Device Compliance Notification Samples

WiscVPN Host Information Profile (HIP) device compliance checks provide end-user notifications when non-compliant devices connect to the VPN using GlobalProtect. Each notification provides information describing the compliance problem identified and links to resolve the compliance issue. This document provides samples of the notifications users may receive.

Sample Notifications

There are currently three device compliance notifications offered by WiscVPN.

Missing Security Updates

Devices receiving this notification are identified as running a major operating system version that is supported by the vendor but is missing required security updates. Applying the security updates relevant for the current major OS version (e.g. macOS 26, Windows 11 25H2) will resolve this compliance issue.

Unsupported Operating System

Devices receiving this notification are identified as running a major operating system version that NOT supported by the vendor. Upgrading the operating system to a supported version (e.g. upgrading macOS 13 to macOS 26 or upgrading Windows 11 22H2 to Windows 11 15H2) and then applying any security updates required for the upgraded OS version will resolve this compliance issue.

Real-time, Current Antivirus

Devices receiving this notification are identified as having one of the following three issues related to their antivirus or endpoint detection and response (EDR) product.

  • Antivirus or EDR is not installed or active
  • Real-time protection are not enabled
  • Virus definitions are not current

Ensuring the device has an active antivirus product with real-time protections enabled, and the virus definitions are current, will resolve this compliance issue.
