Adding Students and Student Groups Using the Bulk Import Tool
Add new curriculum student groups by uploading an excel spreadsheet to the bulk importer tool
Student Groups
You are able to make groups of students for quick addition of them to your curriculum. By creating student groups, you are able to schedule learners into your curriculum in bulk. You are able to add and/or remove learners in one centralized location rather than updating each moment individually.
Bulk Student Group Import Tool
The importer tool is most useful when importing multiple student groups. If only a few groups are needed, It may be best to create the groups manually. Please see the Student Groups section of the Acuity One45 - Administrative Curriculum Schedule Overview document for more information.
- Managing student groups for all phases is done within Undergrad (Phase 1) group. Navigate to the Student Groups page by selecting Schedules then Student Groups.

NOTE: If the buttons are misaligned, please clear you cache. - Confirm or create new Group Families. These must be created prior to import. Groups should have been rolled over into the new academic year. New groups can be created by using the fields below the families list or edited by selecting the pencil icon next to the families name.
- Select the Import Student Group button.
- Details about the Student group import template will appear on the new page:

- Select the Download Template File button which appears halfway down the page.
- Open the Template file. There will be four columns(family_id, family_name, group_name, group_abbreviation) with the names and IDs of existing Group Families listed:

- Insert a new line for each new student group you would like to create. Then save this document.

- In Acuity. Select the Browse... button which appears under the Upload File header. Select the newly filled out Excel template.
- Select the Import button.
- Review the import preview on the new page.
- Select the Proceed with Import button.
- Select Accept.
Bulk Import Student into Student Groups
This tool is most valuable when many student need to be entered for multiple student groups.
- Navigate to the Student Groups page by selecting Schedules then Student Groups.

- Confirm or create new Student Groups. These must be created prior to import. Groups can be created in bulk using the steps above or manually.
- Select the Import People to Student Group button.
- Details about the People to Student group import template will appear on the new page:

- Select the Download Template File button which appears halfway down the page.
- Open the Template file. There will be six columns(family_id, family_name, group_id, group_name, one45_id, and student_email) with the names and IDs of existing Student Groups listed:

- Insert a new line for each new student group you would like to create.You can use either student email or One45_id. This information can be found through the Rolodex Report—More information on this can be found on the Acuity One45 - People Reports KB:

- Save this excel document.
- In Acuity. Select the Browse... button which appears under the Upload File header. Select the newly completed Excel template.
- Select the Import button.
- Review the import preview on the new page.
- Select the Proceed with Import button.
- Select Accept.
