Post Tenure Review Increment (PTRI) Spring 2025

This document provides an overview of the Post Tenure Review Increment (PTRI) program that will take place for FY 2025 and provides specific details about the process and steps that HR and departments will need to complete.

The UW Campus has provided a central pool of $1 million total to be allocated to schools/colleges/divisions for FY 2025 Post Tenure Review Increment Initiative.

  • The PTRI program is designed to provide departments with the opportunity to provide base adjustments to tenured faculty who have been identified through the post-tenure review process as having met or exceeded performance expectations during the usual five-year post-tenure review period in FY 2025.

  • Departments will receive recommendation templates and will be asked to nominate eligible faculty for consideration.

  • Total adjustments (the central portion plus any school matching funds) must fall within a range between $1,500 and a dollar amount equal to 5.0% of base salary.

  • Campus funding support only for those fully or partially on 101 funding.

The Department of DEPARTMENT requests a base pay increase for EMPLOYEE due to performance via the Post Tenure Review Increment program.

EMPLOYEE received a favorable post-tenure review on DATE. Their performance is excellent and the expectation is that it will continue. [INCLUDE 2-3 SENTENCES JUSTIFYING THE PAY INCREASE FOR THE EMPLOYEE.] These additional sentences will serve as the narrative that the review committee will utilize to determine the appropriateness and level of an award provided via this program. Please be sure to include statements of accomplishment, performance, impact, etc.

*If you are submitting a request for a dual-employed faculty member, please describe briefly whether the increase awarded as a result of this program will result in an increase to total compensation, or, if the increase will only be added to UW compensation and will result in a shift in funding from UWMF to UW.
