International Workplace Flexibility
This document outlines the process for tracking international remote work that is not covered by the university's formal remote work policy.
Per UW–Madison Remote Work policy and the SMPH Remote Work Guide:
- International remote work longer than 21 consecutive calendar days must be approved through the International Remote Work Justification Process.
- Employees who plan to work while traveling internationally within the 1-21 day workplace flexibility window, should complete an International Workplace Flexibility Tracking form.
Process
- Employee and Supervisor fill out the International Workplace Flexibility Tracking form
- The CAO and/or Chair must sign off on the arrangement
- The form and the CAO/Chair email confirming support are sent to the employee's HR Business Partner or HR Assistant
