A message from Hope Broadus, Chief Human Resources Officer, regarding partnering with HR during the transition to Workday.

As you know, we will be implementing Workday July 1, 2025. This change will significantly alter how we handle various HR processes, including payroll, benefits, performance management, lifecycle transactions, recruiting, and more.

As of this month, we’ve officially entered the “cutover” phase, the time-period during which we will transition our business processes from the current HR and finance systems to Workday. A successful transition to Workday depends on a clear and timely cutover plan for when we stop entering information into old systems and begin entering information into Workday. As you have seen, activities are being sequenced and scheduled for the months leading up to and following our Workday go-live in July 2025. Cutover plans for SMPH’s HR-related activities are now fully underway.

In the coming months and following the July go-live, our team will be adapting to a new system, workflows, and terminology while managing an already heavy workload and navigating the many uncertainties we are all facing. As we are learning and adjusting to the new system, we will also need to assist you with your own transition to Workday.

Given the complexity and scale of this transition, we kindly ask for your patience and understanding over the coming months. Response times may be slower as we learn and adjust to the new system. Cutover may necessitate delays for certain HR transactions and other activities. Training for our HR team has begun and will require dedicated time for coursework and learning.

We take pride in delivering excellent HR service and support and do not intend to compromise that even during this complex transition. We kindly ask for your help in prioritizing HR-related items to ensure we can continue to provide timely and effective service. Please help us by flagging urgent HR matters and understanding that non-urgent requests may take longer than usual to address. By working together to focus on the most critical tasks, we can better support you and the entire organization during this enterprise-wide transition.

Your continued partnership is deeply appreciated.
