ACTION REQUIRED: Complete SMPH Employee Annual Reviews in PMDP and in Workday

The following email message was sent to all managers within SMPH kicking off the annual Summary Evaluation initiative.

  • This message is for: SMPH (non-faculty) academic staff, university staff, limited appointees, and faculty members who supervise those employees.  
  • Purpose: To share information about processes required for the transition of the university’s performance management processes into Workday.
  • Action Required for “Step 2 and Step 3”: 
    • Step 2: Complete all open reviews in PMDP
      • Due by Oct. 1, 2025.
    • Step 3: Input expectations and goals from the FY25 PMDP into Workday
      • Available Monday, July 28, 2025
      • Due by Oct. 31, 2025.

Dear SMPH community:  

Thank you for successfully completing Step 1 of our three-part process for transitioning performance management to Workday.

As a reminder, summary evaluations must be completed in PMDP (Step 2): 

  • Deadline: October 1, 2025
  • Action: All supervisors responsible for conducting annual evaluations for fiscal year 2025 (July 1, 2024-June 30, 2025) must complete their summary evaluation for their employees in PMDP by October 1, 2025. These evaluations were opened in PMDP in May/June as Step 1 of our performance management cutover.
  • Supervisors of employees on probation, please make sure all open outstanding evaluations in PMDP are completed.

Key action required after July 28, 2025, for “Start in Workday” (Step 3):

*This step should not be completed until the Summary Evaluation is finished in PMDP, as goals need to be established first.

  • Action: All supervisors will receive a “task” in Workday on Monday, July 28 to set performance management content in Workday. Complete this task after completing Step 2 above.
    • Non-Probationary Employees the task will be titled: “Set Content: Annual Evaluation Staff - 2025: <Employee Name>.”
    • Probationary Employees, the task will be titled: “Set Content: 2025 Performance Set Up: <Employee Name>.”
  • Description: This “set content” task is required to move expectations and goals from PMDP into Workday to prepare for future review cycles within Workday. No data is automatically moving from PMDP to Workday.
  • Resource: Performance Management Summer 2025 will help guide supervisors through the initial Workday set up.
  • Deadline: October 31, 2025

SMPH will host a Manager Workshop session for setting content in Workday:

  • Thursday, Aug. 28:
    • Presentation from 9:30-10:30 HSLC 1309 (hybrid option will be available)
    • Followed by an open drop-in session to help managers set content in Workday from 10:30-4:30 p.m.
