Web Hosting - UW Theme for WordPress
UW Theme for WordPress is developed and maintained by the Office of Strategic Communication and the WiscWeb WordPress Service, with collaboration from the Center for User Experience and input from developers, designers, communicators, and users across campus.
UW Theme Classic to UW Theme 2.0 Migration:
UW Theme 2.0 is now available with migration tools developed by the Office of Strategic Communication and currently in use in the Wiscweb service.
The migration tooling has not yet been released for non-Wiscweb sites, however, the current theme will remain supported until the end of 2026.

NOTES: The conversion tool requires the WP-CLI command-line interface for WordPress, which allows experienced developers to perform various actions, including those not available in the WordPress admin dashboard. We strongly recommend using test or staging sites first and taking backups before proceeding. The migration process is manual, even with the mapping tool, and the outcomes will vary depending on the site’s structure. Therefore, many will be planning to rebuild their sites.
We highly recommend using Wiscweb and proving that it does not meets your needs, as the service handles all WordPress updates, security, and other aspects, allowing you to focus solely on your content.
