Microsoft Account Authentication Error

If you're getting an authentication error on your desktop Microsoft Office applications but the web versions still work it could be due to an account error. Please follow these steps to reset your account.

    The error should look similar to whats pictured below. Keep in mind it might not look exactly like this.

    Solution

    The solution is to remove your Microsoft account and login again. 

    • Open Settings - Accounts - Access work or school

                    Settings - Accounts

    • Click the arrow to the right of your @wisc.edu account and click disconnect. 

                    Remove your account

    • Open Outlook, Teams and OneDive and login again. This should reset your account.
