Determining IP v4 address on a PC Windows Computer
DNS computer name fails when launching Microsoft Remote Desktop Application, sometimes necessary to use the remote PC's IP v4 address to remotely connect. Please note that WCER Full DNS Computer Names do not change and are reliable to use.
If full DNS computer name fails when launching Microsoft Remote Desktop Application, it is sometimes necessary to use the remote PC's IP v4 address to connect remotely.

IP v4 addresses are "leased" and may change when lease expires.
Because of this ip v4 leasing feature - knowing your WCER Full DNS Computer Name is essential .
Find your WCER PC ip v4 address via Command Prompt Go to "start, windows settings, command prompt"
Once the command prompt is open – type “ipconfig” as seen below. Your computer’s IPv4 address is listed. In this case it is 128.104.150.222
Write down the IPv4 address. Close the Command Prompt Window with the "X" in the upper right hand corner.
