- Click on the Tools drop-down in the upper right corner.
- From the drop-down menu, select Internet Options.

Internet Explorer 8
- Open Internet Explorer.
- Click on the Tools drop-down in the upper right corner.
- Then click Pop-up Blocker to open its options.
- From the menu that appears, select either Turn Off Pop-up Blocker or Turn On Pop-up Blocker. In the example image below, the pop-up blocker is enabled, so the only option available to select is Turn Off Pop-up Blocker. Whichever option appears will depend on whether your blocker is already enabled or disabled.

- Click on Tools again.
- Now select Internet Options.
- Click on the Privacy tab.
- Locate the Pop-up Blocker subsection, and either check or uncheck the box next to Turn on Pop-up Blocker. Ensure the box has a checkmark inside if you want block pop-ups.
- Now click on the Security tab located to the left of the Privacy tab.
- Click the Custom level... button toward the bottom of the window.
- The Security Settings window should now appear. Scroll down until you see Use Pop-up Blocker, and toggle either Enable or Disable depending on your preference. Make sure this setting matches the preceding preferences you have set in this process vis-à-vis enabling or disabling the pop-up blocker.
- Click OK.
- If this brings you back to the Internet Options window from steps 7-10, click Apply in the bottom right corner of the window.
- Then click OK to exit. Your preference should now be set.
Internet Explorer 9, 10, and 11
- Open Internet Explorer.
- Click on Tools (represented by the gear icon) in the upper right corner.
- Then click Pop-up Blocker to open its options.
- From the menu that appears, select Internet options.

- Click on the Privacy tab.
- Find Turn on Pop-up Blocker under the Pop-up Blocker subsection. Check or uncheck the box to enable or disable the pop-up blocker, respectively. A checked box indicates that the blocker will be turned on.
- Click Apply in the bottom right corner.
- Then click OK to exit the window. Your preference should now be set.
