Microsoft is ending support for Internet Explorer 11 (IE11) in Windows 10 on June 15th 2022.

What is happening?

Microsoft is ending support for Internet Explorer 11 (IE11) in Windows 10 on June 15th 2022.

How will this impact me?

The vast majority of staff already using a different web browser exclusively (Google Chrome, Mozilla FireFox, Microsoft Edge; etc) will see no impact. For those that have continued to use IE11 due to preference or because of a business need, attempting to open IE11 after June 15th will result in your browser session being redirected to Microsoft Edge.

What action should I take?

Staff that use IE11 by choice should switch to a different web browser for day-to-day use.

Staff that need to maintain access to a web resource that has traditionally required IE11 should explore using Microsoft Edge’s “Internet Explorer mode." Internet Explorer mode is found under Settings --> Default Browser: [Link for document 118968 is unavailable at this time]. IE mode enables backward compatibility and will be supported through at least 2029.

For more information, please review the Microsoft announcement from May 2021 or the Lifecycle FAQ for IE and Microsoft Edge.
