WiscIT - Known Issue - "Dashboard no longer exists" error upon web client login

This document describes a known issue in the WiscIT web client.

The Issue

When opening the WiscIT web client to a default dashboard in a team folder, the following series of two errors may appear:

This dashboard no longer exists

A Scope owner must be specified when requesting objects of Team scope.

This error consistently appears when loading the web client in a fresh browser session i.e. after clearing cache and cookies or in a private browsing window; it may or may not appear in subsequent logins.

Workaround(s)

There is both a short-term fix that will grant you access to the web client but not stop subsequent errors, as well as a long-term workaround that will prevent the error entirely.

To access the web client after encountering this error, simply:

  1. Click OK on both error messages to dismiss them.

  2. Click the Home icon in the upper left of the web client.

To fix the issue indefinitely, please contact wiscit-support@doit.wisc.edu to request that the dashboard be moved out of the team folder and into the global folder. Please include the name and folder of the dashboard in question.

We’re Sorry!

Cherwell has acknowledged this as a known issue that is not fixed in the latest available version of Cherwell. We hope that it will be fixed in a future release.
