WiscIT - Navigating an Object Workspace

This document details how to navigate an Object Workspace in WiscIT powered by Ivanti Neurons.

What is an Object Workspace?

An Object Workspace allows an analyst to view and interact with records in a specific Object in WiscIT (e.g. Incidents, Service Requests, Problems, Changes).

Common actions an analyst may take in an Object Workspace include:

  • Searching for records
  • Opening an existing record
  • Updating an existing record
  • Creating a new record

Which actions an analyst may take depend on the specific Object and the permissions to that Object for the analyst’s role.

The exact composition of an Object Workspace will vary depending on the specific Workspace, but generally an Object Workspace has the following components:

  • A search selector with a default search and all searches published to the current user’s role
  • A full-text search box
  • A search builder interface
  • A List View that contains:
    • A list of records from the currently selected search
    • A set of columns that display important fields for the Workspace’s object
    • A toolbar to act with the list of records
    • A preview form for the selected record
  • A Form View that contains:
    • A main form (usually with header) that contains important fields for the object
    • Tabs that display relationships between the Workspace’s object and other objects
    • A toolbar to act against the current record

Navigating an Object Workspace

  2. Select a search using the search selector drop-down
