WiscIT - Using a Simple Workflow to Update Summary or Description on Service Requests

1. Open Request Offering in the Request Offering Workspace

2. Open the Plan Request Offering Fulfillment tab.

3. Set the Fulfill as: drop-down to Workflow if it is not already.

4. Drag a Start Block, an Update Object Block, and a Stop Block into the Workflow Editor.

5. Connect the three blocks so that it flows from: Start Block -> Update Object Block -> Stop Block

6. Configure the Update Object block to set the Summary field (will appear as "Name / Summary" in the list) or the Description field as needed.

For simple forms, it may suffice to simply include a Summary or Description field on the form and then use workflow to copy that onto submitted Service Requests. For more complex forms or forms that gather specific information for repeatable, defined and owned processes, it is likely that a suitable summary can be generated directly from the data submitted by the customer.
