Kaltura - Using Channels in Kaltura MediaSpace [UW-Madison]

This document describes how to create channels, access channels, and add users to a channel. It also describes how to add and remove media to a channel.

A channel is a user-curated collection of related media and playlists in Kaltura MediaSpace. They can be configured to be open collaborative collections or private collections restricted to only certain individuals. You can use channels to:

  • Upload and group media
  • Add users and modify their channel permissions
  • Share content using links and subscriptions
A Canvas Kaltura course media gallery is a type of channel and generally preferred for instructors using Canvas. More information on Kaltura MediaSpace channels is available in Kaltura's documentation Understanding Galleries and Channels in Kaltura MediaSpace.

Note: Media can only be added to a maximum of 32 channels, Canvas Kaltura media galleries, or categories. See Kaltura - Known Issue - Limited Number of Courses, Channels, or Categories for a Kaltura Video [UW-Madison]  for more information.
