Frequently asked questions

Can edit my site before it is launched?
Yes, you can continue editing up until your time of launch.

Will I edit my site the same way after I launch?
Yes, site editing will operate exactly the same as before your launch. We recommend continuing to login at https://wiscweb.wisc.edu/wp-admin for this purpose.

How much notice do you need in order to schedule a site launch?
It is requested that you schedule your launch at least two weeks in advance. This gives us the opportunity to coordinate the launch with the DoIT Web Hosting team. Having your site scheduled in advance helps ensure that it can launch on the day of your choosing.

How do I get rid of the “project.wiscweb.wisc.edu” in the site URL?
The “project.wiscweb.wisc.edu” URL is your project URL/domain. When you are ready to launch your site, you can choose a production domain/URL.

Will the internal *.project.wiscweb.wisc.edu URLs automatically update when the site is launched?
Yes, we conduct a find/replace for *.project.wiscweb.wisc.edu URLs upon site launch. These will all be updated for you.
