CHM IT - Request to Add/Remove User from Restricted Drive Access
How to add/remove a user in restricted drive.
Previously, PIs were able to add users to manifest lists themselves.
DoIT has asked us to discontinue allowing PIs to add users directly to their manifest lists for restricted drive (or folders within).
Going forward, if you have a new or existing user who needs access to your restricted drive (or a specific folder within), please:
- Email help@chm.wisc.edu and CC the person in question
- Let us know the NetID of the person who needs access (i.e. the first part of their @wisc.edu email address)
- Let us know if the person needs access to a specific folder or just your restricted drive in general
- CONFIRM that the person has a CHM-ISSUED LAPTOP OR DESKTOP. (i.e. “I’ve confirmed that Robert “Bob” Bobbinson has a CHM-issued laptop”)
This should NOT affect anyone who currently has access to your restricted drive. This is only for new adds/removes.
