Connecting to Printers at Brogden
Windows/Mac Desktop
If you’re using a Windows or Mac desktop machine, the Psychology 2nd Floor Printer should be installed automatically! If it’s not, please email help@chm.wisc.edu and let us know which machine is giving you issues.
Windows Laptop
FIRST - Make sure you’re connected to the Brain Imaging VPN or WiscVPN!
- Download the bizhub 808 driver from Konica minolta and install. You'll want to use the Windows 10 64 Bit (if using Windows 10) OR the Windows 11 driver (if you're using Windows 11).
- Make sure that PCL is highlighted, then download the latest zip file.
- Extract this Zip file to a known location. You'll need to remember where this folder is, so make it somewhere easy to find (perhaps a folder called "printer drivers" in your documents?)
-
Open the control panel by clicking Start and typing “Control Panel”. Open “Devices and Printers” or “View Devices and Printers” and select “Add a Printer”
-
NO NEED TO WAIT FOR THE BAR - just click on “The Printer I Want Isn’t Listed”
-
Choose “add a printer by IP address or host name” and click next
-
Change the dropdown to “Autodetect”, then type in 128.104.130.68 (2nd floor copier) or 128.104.130.69 (4th floor copier) in the address box, and hit next.
- To install the printer driver, select the ‘Have Disk’ button and point to the folder where you saved the driver (from above)
- Choose the ‘Konica Minolta 958SeriesPCL’ printer driver and click next to install the printer.
-
On the next window, you can name the printer whatever you’d like. I’d recommend “Brogden 2nd Floor Printer” but it’s up to you!
-
It may ask you about sharing the printer. Please click DO NOT SHARE THIS PRINTER.
-
Click next. You may have to enter your admin credentials for the laptop (your “-admin” username & password), and the printer will install!
- Once the printer is installed, find it in your list of printers in the control panel. Right click on it, and open the printer preferences
- Select the "Basic" tab". On the right side, you'll see a "Authentication/Account Track" tab. Click on that and enter the copy code in the password text box (Davidson Research Code is:
1202379) - Click OK
