How to Access Shared Drives on Ubuntu

This guide explains how to connect to a shared network drive on Ubuntu. Your PI or manager can provide you with the shared drive path you need to connect.

Steps

  1. Open the Files application.
  2. In the left sidebar, click Other Locations.
  3. In the Connect to Server field at the bottom, enter the shared drive path provided by your PI or manager.

  1. Click Connect.
  2. If you are asked to sign in, enter the following information:

Connect as Registered User
Username Your Discovery Username
Domain morgridge.net
Password Your Discovery Password
  1. Check Remember password forever so you do not need to sign in each time.
  2. Click Connect.
