How to Connect to the WIDMIR Wi-Fi or Wired Network on Ubuntu

Before you can access network resources (like shared drives), you need to sign in to the network using your Discovery credentials. Follow the steps below for Wi-Fi or a wired (ethernet) connection.

Connecting via Wi-Fi (WIDMIR)

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Go to the Wi-Fi section.
  3. Click on WIDMIR to connect.
  4. Enter your Discovery Username and Discovery Password when prompted.

Connecting via Ethernet (Wired)

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Go to the Networking section.
  3. Click the gear icon next to Wired.
  4. Navigate to the Security tab.
  5. Enter the following settings exactly as listed:

802.1x security Turn on
Authentication Protected EAP (PEAP)
Anonymous identity Leave blank
CA certificate Check "No CA certificate is required"
PEAP version Automatic
Inner authentication MSCHAPv2
Username Your Discovery Username
Password Your Discovery Password
  1. Click Apply.
