Discovery Printers: Register at the Printer

This guide details how to get registered with the PaperCut card scanners on the Discovery printers.

Sign in with your WisCard

The new PaperCut system will allow print jobs to be picked up at whatever printer is most convenient with the simple swipe of a card. In order to implement this system, we are requiring people to log into the printers in order to access the copying and scanning functions (and eventually retrieve their print jobs). The printers will now show this screen.

First wave your WisCard over the card reader close enough to hear it beep. The first time you attempt this you will have to register your card with the system.

Enter your Discovery network username and password (the same one used to sign into the wireless). You will be able to use the on-screen keyboard.

Once you've entered your Username and Password select Set. The system will register your card and you will be prompted again to log in using your card. After this one-time registration you will no longer need to register a card, unless your card is lost and replaced. You will have access to all of the Sharp copiers in the building.

After sign in, press Device Functions in order to get to the copying and scanning functions. Soon you will also retrieve your print jobs from this page. Next time you use the printer, scanning your card in will take you straight to this Held Print Jobs page.
