Concurrent Appointments Policy for Fellows/Trainees

Information about limits to concurrent appointments fellows/trainees can hold.

Students with fellowships or traineeships may hold concurrent student hourly or graduate assistantship (TA, PA, RA, Lecturer [SA]) appointments provided that the funding agency's/unit's policies allow for such appointments. The maximum combined dollar-earned limit is $41,616 annually (2013-14).  Fellows/trainees desiring concurrent academic staff, limited term, or classified staff appointments should complete a Concurrent Appointments Waiver Form.  The form includes a section for the student's major advisor to fill out indicating: 1) how, if at all, the concurrent appointment relates to the student's graduate studies and 2) the impact on the student's progress toward his/her degree.
