Setting Java Security Level for use with Housing Applications

Instructions for setting Java security settings for use with Housing Applications. These steps will allow you to bypass this error message.
Java Application Blocked by Security


  1. Open "Control Panel" and then navigate to the Java settings panel

  2. Within the Java Settings panel, click on the "Security" tab. Then click on "Edit Site List..."

  3. In the pop-up window, click "Add" to enter a new permitted URL. Then enter the URLs below:

    https://onlineservices.housing.wisc.edu/his
    https://ofr01.doit.wisc.edu
    https://ofr02.doit.wisc.edu 
  4. Click "OK" when finished. Then restart any open browsers before trying to launch the Java web application again.
