DoIT Departmental Tech Support - Software Offers
Available Applications
The following standard applications and configurations are available for self-service installation via Software Offers:
- 1Password: Password Management Software
- 7-Zip (Windows Only): Archive Manipulator
- Adobe Creative Cloud: Adobe Creative Cloud allows users to select and install desired applications from the list below.
Note: Before installing any Adobe application via Creative Cloud, it's recommended to uninstall any previous versions of the same Adobe title.- Acrobat DC

- FileZilla: Graphical file transfer client
- Firefox: Internet Browser
- Gimp: Photoshop-esque image manipulation software
- Google Chrome: Internet Browser
- Google Drive for Desktop: File access utility
- Greenshot (Windows Only): Screenshot utility
- IcedTea-Web: Open Source Java WebStart Implementation
- IrfanView (Windows Only): Photo viewing/editing software
- Jabra Direct (Windows Only): Software that manages Jabra devices
- KeePass2 (Windows Only): Password Management software
- Microsoft Edge Chromium: Internet browser by Microsoft
- Microsoft Teams: Collaboration software
- Morphic Accessibility Toolbar: Accessibility software
- Outlook Shared Sent/Deleted Message Fix: This fixes the issue of items sent and deleted from a shared mailbox showing up in your personal folders
- Palo Alto GlobalProtect: Campus-supported VPN software
- Palo Alto GlobalProtect Connect Before Logon Settings (Windows Only): Enables the option to connect to WiscVPN from the Windows login screen on systems that don't already have this feature enabled
- Perceptive Content Desktop Client (Windows Only): Used to access the Imaging Service at the University of Wisconsin
- SecureCRT (Windows Only): Telnet and SSH client
- SecureFX (Windows Only): Graphical file transfer client
- VLC: Multimedia player

Some departments may have additional offers which are specific to their unit beyond the standard options listed above.
Viewing Available Offers
To view offers, first open the "BigFix Self-Service Application" from the Windows Start Menu or macOS Applications folder. On Windows devices it can also be accessed via a red and white "W" icon in the Windows system tray, at the bottom right of the screen. On macOS devices, this is available via a white "W" icon at the top right of the screen.
The Self-Service Application "Offerings" tab will display the software and configurations that are applicable to your computer and available for self-service installation.
Accepting an Offer
To accept an offer, click its associated "Get" button. Leave your computer on and plugged into power until the installation has finished.
Checking Offer Progress
The status of in-progress installations will be displayed next to the "Get" button. Notifications will also be displayed on your screen. Previously completed offers can be viewed in the History tab
Need Help?
If an offer you're looking for isn't listed in the BigFix Self-Service Application, there could be a few reasons why it's not being displayed:
- The software is already installed
- Your computer does not have enough disk space
- Your computer needs to restart to complete an earlier software installation and the offer will appear after your next restart
