Opportunities to help shape IT policy

  • The newly re-chartered IT Policy Planning and Analysis Team (PAT) will meet monthly. The next meeting is Wed, Dec 13, 8:00-9:30, Rm B109 CS. These meetings help determine the future direction of IT policy. You are welcome to attend.

  • The Network Firewall Policy has been drafted. Comments are always welcome. The PAT is working on a cover letter to accompany the policy when it is forwarded to IT governance this winter. Please send comments to policy@cio.wisc.edu.

Divisional Technology Advisory Group (DTAG)

Policy Planning & Analysis Team (PAT)

  • The PAT is a subcommittee of the Information Technology Committee. The PAT assists IT governance with the execution and iterative improvement of the IT Policy Principles and Procedures. This includes intake, prioritization, drafting, and analysis of IT policies, communication with the UW-Madison community, and planning for IT Policy forums. See the PAT charter for details. Research Technology Advisory Group (RTAG)

Web and Mobile Accessibility/Usability Coordinating Group (Coordinating Group)

  • An external peer review of UW-Madison Web Accessibility occured on Nov 6 and 7. If you would like information on the results, please send an inquiry to accessibility@cio.wisc.edu. The report of the peer reviewers will be delivered by Dec 31. Following up, the strategic plan for digital accessibility will be developed during January through March 2018.

  • The group coordinates improvement of the digital accessibility of UW-Madison web and mobile systems and services through implementation of accessibility tools; creation of best practices, standards, and shared-expertise; creation of training for developers and service providers; and measurement of accessibility of websites and mobile applications.
