Opportunities to help shape IT policy

  • The IT Policy Planning and Analysis Team (PAT) meets on the first Friday of the month, 1:30-3:00, in Rm 3139 CS. These meetings help determine the future direction of IT policy. You are welcome to attend.

Information Technology Committee (ITC)

Information Technology Steering Committee (ITSC)

  • The Information Technology Steering Committee (ITSC) is the executive body that leads the strategic planning, organization, prioritization, investment, and decision-making activities in all areas of information technology (IT) throughout the UW-Madison. Policy Planning & Analysis Team (PAT) and its subcommittees

  • The PAT is a subcommittee of the Information Technology Committee. The PAT assists IT governance with the execution and iterative improvement of the IT Policy Principles and Procedures. This includes intake, prioritization, drafting, and analysis of IT policies, communication with the UW-Madison community, and planning for IT Policy forums. See the PAT charter for details. Voting members are appointed. Faculty, staff and students at UW-Madison may join the PAT or its subcommittees as members-at-large. Contact policy@cio.wisc.edu.

Research Technology Advisory Group (RTAG)

  • RTAG advises the VCRGE in meeting their responsibility to ensure that the policies, practices, and resources around research cyberinfrastructure and information technology included in research administration are most effectively aligned to support and advance the vibrant research programs at the UW-Madison. Teaching and Learning Technology Advisory Group (TLTAG)

UW-Madison Information Security Team (UW-MIST)

  • UW-MIST is advisory to the CISO and IT Governance. See the UW-MIST Charter for details. Anyone may attend. Voting members are appointed. Web and Mobile Accessibility/Usability Coordinating Group (Coordinating Group)

  • The Coordinating Group usually meets every week or two on Thursday, 11:00-12:00, at McBurney Center. Please contact accessibility@cio.wisc.edu for confirmation. The group is currently working on:

    • Position descriptions for proposed staff to support digital accessibility.
    • The strategic plan for digital accessibility.
    • Re-chartering of the group.
