KB Admins, Based on user feedback, we've added a couple of new features over the weekend.

1) Owner site custom tag (<span class="ownersite">...</span>): This tag allows authors to embed site specific content anywhere within a KB document (or news item). Site specific content is visible to owner site only even when the document is shared across multiple sites / groups / institutions.

2) Owner institution tag (<span class="ownerinstitution">...</span>): This tag allows authors to embed institution specific content anywhere within a KB document (or news item). Institution specific content is visible to owner institution sites only even when a document is shared across multiple campuses / schools.

3) Import HTML function: This function allows document owners to import HTML from an existing url into the KB system. By default this function extracts the html text within the <body>...</body> tag of an external web page and places it anywhere in the body field of a KB document. For security, any javascript functions are stripped during this import process.

4) Email link button: Per user request, this button is back.

Owner site tag, owner institution tag, and email link button are incorporated in the KB editor in both design mode and html mode. The HTML import function is only available in the html mode, where you have better control over the source.

Also, all old linkdoc tags (<linkdoc>...</linkdoc>) have been replaced with the new ones (<a class="linkdoc">...</a>). Old linkdoc tags are no longer supported.

As usual, we welcome and appreciate your suggestions and ideas (hd-west at doit.wisc.edu).

Thanks,

hd-west team
