Directory Search (Win) - Using LDAP with Outlook 2013

The instructions below explain how to search the UW Directory with Outlook 2010 / 2013. If you have not yet configured Outlook 2010 / 2013 for LDAP, please see: Directory Search (Win) - Configure Outlook 2013 for the White Pages

To use LDAP:

*Note, this guide includes screen-shots for 2010 but not 2013. However, the steps are identical (and look nearly identical), so please attempt to follow this guide and contact the DoIT Help Desk (608-264-4357) if you have any issues using LDAP.
  1. Launch Outlook.
  2. Click on Address Book

  3. In the Tools menu, click Options

  4. Make sure Custom is selected. Then click on to select it, and use the arrow to the right to move it to the top of the list.

    Then, under "When opening the address book, show this address list first:" select

  5. In the drop down menu under Address Book, select

  6. Then type the name you would like to search and hit Go.
