Manifest - Accept a Group Invitation and Activate a NetID

Users external to UW-Madison may receive an email inviting them to join a Manifest group and activate a NetID. This document covers the basics of how to proceed through the process.

Introduction

In this document, we will walk through the process of accepting a Manifest group invitation and creating a NetID.

Please note, this process only applies to people who have been invited to create a NetID through the Manifest system.

If you are a student, an applicant, faculty or staff member, or if you already have a NetID, this tutorial does NOT apply to you. Instead, please visit NetID - Activating Your Account.

What is Manifest?

Manifest is a system that allows UW-Madison campus members to group people together and give them access to resources such as courses, research, testing materials, or any number of other things. As an end user you will receive an invitation from this system to join a group.

What is a NetID?

A NetID is your username that you use to access resources at UW-Madison. Your NetID is provided during activation and you set the password.
