1116 Classroom

This classroom is equipped for presentations and webinars.

On the desk there are two monitors.


  1. left monitor in 1116  Monitor on the left is labeled PRIVATE - this is only viewable at the podium and can be navigated by the mouse and keyboard.


  2. 1116 right touch screen monitor  Monitor on the right is the image that is projected onto the screen and captured in lecture recordings. This monitor is a touch screen, can be navigated by the mouse and keyboard, and can act as a whiteboard.


  3. crestron display  Crestron control panel is between the two monitors and controls the features of the room.

Start up the panel screen

  1. To turn on the system, touch the Crestron panel screen.


Use the desktop/room computer

  1. Start up the panel screen.
  2. Turn on the computer located under the podium.
  3. Select the Computer/Web Conf  button on the panel screen.

    Note: Blackout the screen is activated by clicking on the BLANK button. The button turns red when the digital projector is on mute. Nothing will show on the screen when BLANK is activated.

  4. Open Powerpoint presentation and "Start Slideshow"
  5. Presenter notes will display on the left monitor and the presentation will display on the right monitor and the projectors.

Wired connection to a laptop

  1. Connect the HDMI cable and appropriate dongle (if applicable) to the laptop.

  2. Start up the panel screen
  3. Select the Laptop/Web Conf button on the panel screen.
  4. Open Powerpoint presentation and "Start Slideshow"
  5. Adjust settings on laptop for what projects to room.
    **Note: when connected to laptop, desktop monitors are not connected to laptop.

Use the document camera 

  1. Start up the panel screen.
  2. Press the POWER button on the document camera. The light for the power button will turn green to indicate it is on.

  1. Place your document on the working surface area. 
  2. Select the Doc Cam button on the panel screen.

  3. To adjust the size of the projected document, use the ZOOM dial. Turn the dial towards the "one person" button to make the image larger and towards the "three people" button to make it smaller.

  4. Turn off the document camera when you are finished, and push drawer back into cabinet..

Webinar capabilities

  1. Connect to 1116 computer or laptop.
  2. 1116 Room Computer selected
    1. Open up webinar software (Zoom or Teams) and connect to your session.

    2. For Audio and video choose: Bridge Mini
      video and audio settings

    3. For camera view in webinar, you can choose to show the Instructor or the students in the room by clicking the appropriate button.

      Student Camera Presets 
      button 1 - captures as much of room as possible (front left and right corners not captured)
      button 2 - captures 2/3 of left side of room
      button 3 - captures 1/2 of right side of room

      Instructor Camera
      Tracking is on (blue) - camera will follow the presenter around the front half of the room/deselect - gray and will focus on podium
      button 1 - medium zoom
      button 2 - wide zoom
      button 3 - tight zoom
       
       
      Notes: if someone doesn't want to be on screen, suggest they sit in the front left or right most seats.
                 to reset instructor camera, toggle the Tracking button on and off

  3. Laptop connected for webinar
    1. Select Laptop/Web conf
    2. connect the USB cable labeled for Webinar - this will give you access to the rooms cameras and mic/speakers
    3. In your webinar software, Select Bridge Mini for Speakers and Microphone. Select Bridge Mini for your cameras.
    4. For camera view in webinar, you can choose to show the Instructor or the students in the room by clicking the appropriate button.

    5. We recommend you mute ceiling mics unless you are in a Q&A session.

Use the Microphone

Note: The lavalier microphones must be used to capture audio for Lecture Capture. It can be found in the cabinet below next to the computer.

Whiteboard Features

The right monitor is a touch screen which can be used as a whiteboard or annotation and highlights for presentations.

Flow@Works Pro Icon On the desktop there is a program called Flow!Works Pro.

Flow@Works Pro screen You can use your finger or the pen tool to write out equations or chemical structures onto the touch screen.

Or you can use tools in Powerpoint, Laser Pointer, pen, highlighter, etc. These will be captured if recording.

Shutdown the panel system

  1. Select the Shutdown (power) button. 
  2. In the pop-up box, select the Yes Shutdown System button. Note: Once the system is turned off, it takes only takes a few minutes before it is ready to restart. Please refer to the 'Typical Weekly Schedule' to see if there is a following lecture or if the system should be shut down.
  3. Make sure other pieces of equipment are shutdown as well, ie. the document camera and the dedicated computer.
