1Password - Get Help: Account Recovery

A 1Password administrator can initiate the Account Recovery process if you can't unlock 1Password.

If you have issues with 1Password such as being logged out of all devices and unable to login, or are having trouble adding additional devices, a 1Password administrator can "recover" your account. When your account is recovered:

  • You’ll be able to access all the data you had before.
  • You’ll need to sign in again on all your devices once recovery is complete.

Begin Recovery

The Account Recovery process is initiated by a 1Password administrator. This may be done as part of troubleshooting other issues or via a direct request. If you'd like to request an Account Recovery, contact the DoIT Help Desk.

Once the Recovery is started for your account, you'll receive an email from 1Password:

Recovery notification

When you click Recover my account in the email, a page will open in your default browser and you’ll be prompted to set up your linked apps and browsers again.

Click Sign in with NetID Login. Once you successfully authenticate with NetID, 1Password administrators will be notified that you are ready to complete your Account Recovery.
