ECMS - Titan: Search for and View Documents

Titan is the Perceptive Content ECMS/Imaging web client. This document details how to use Titan to find and view documents.
  1. Log into Titan and choose "Documents" from the home page.

  2. A list of views available to you will display on the left-hand side of the page. Click the view that you'd like to open.

  3. To see ALL documents available to you for the selected view, click Search.

Search also allows you to define multiple constraints to filter documents, folders, tasks, or workflow items in the current view and returns the results that satisfy any or all of the defined conditions. After you define the search constraints you want to apply, you can group the constraints, reorder the constraints, and save the search criteria as a filter. The options in the field list vary depending on which module you are using. The options in the operator list vary depending on which field you select. You can use the following search types.

    • Normal = fixed value you set once
The results will only show items that match that exact value.
Example: If you set Field Type = [select desired doc type], you will only see documents that are that doc type.

    • Variable = system fills it in automatically
You don’t have to type anything each time.
Example: If you set Created by = Current User, you will only see items that you created.

    • Prompted = you choose the value each time based on a prompt
You can change your answer each time you click Search.
Example: Select Workflow status as your prompt. When you run the search, you select status from a dropdown list, and it shows you results with that status.

    • (Capability not yet added) Full-text = searches inside the document text
It finds documents that contain the words you enter.
Example: If you search for “dog”, it will show any document that contains that word in the text.

  4. To search within the documents for the selected view, click Search in [view name]. Use the drop down menus to select the parameters for the search.

View of search expanded to show options for adding a constraint.

    • Click “Search” -or-
    • To add an additional constraint, click “Add,” then click “+” located above the search field.
    • Once the additional constraint is added, if needed, click “AND” to toggle between “AND” and “OR”

Multiple constraints shown, with and/or toggle highlighted

  5. When finished setting search parameters, click “Search.” A list of results will display.
