GlobalProtect - Connecting to the SMPH VPN using Windows 11

Steps for connecting to the VPN portal in GlobalProtect on a Windows 11 OS computer.
  • Click the "Show hidden icons" section (up arrow, right side of taskbar) and select the GlobalProtect icon (white globe symbol).

  • Confirm the VPN Portal address (smph.vpn.wisc.edu) then, click the Connect button.

Note: If you need to add the SMPH portal address to GlobalProtect do the following:

Click the three bar icon (upper right corner)

In the Connections window, select the plus symbol,

Enter the portal address (smph.vpn.wisc.edu), then click Add

  • Enter your NetID Credentials, then click the Connect button.

Enter NetID and click Connect

  • Type in a Fob generated pass code, or enter the number 1 for Duo Push to authenticate with app, then click the Sign In button.

Enter 1 for DUO Push

  • You should now be connected to the SMPH VPN portal.
