DoIT Help Desk, Tech Store opens at Health Sciences

UW-Madison’s source for technology products and information has opened a west campus location. The DoIT Tech Store and Help Desk are partnering with University Book Store (UBS) to open a new education discount store and Walk-in Help Desk at the Health Sciences Learning Center at 750 Highland Ave.

Located inside the current UBS space at Health Sciences, the new DoIT Tech Store offers an array of technology products, including computers, mobile computing solutions, printers, monitors, iPods, iPads, webcams, cables, storage devices, and other technology accessories. UW students, faculty, and staff and UW Hospital staff can explore technology options, try out the hardware, get expert advice, and purchase on-site.

Software offerings at the Health Sciences Tech Store include titles from Adobe, Microsoft, and more from the WISC software program, available at substantial educational discounts to current and eligible UW students, faculty, staff, and UW departments. UW Hospital staff can take advantage of the convenient new Tech Store location to buy popular software at competitive prices.

The new Tech Store is well stocked with popular technology choices and is fully staffed. (Products not in stock at this location can be ordered for delivery to the Health Sciences site.) Expert Tech Store consultants are on hand to answer questions and offer friendly advice.

The new Walk-in Help Desk provides technology users on the west campus with in-person help for many common computing problems. Support topics include desktops and laptops, operating system problems (including viruses), wireless connections, and hardware troubleshooting. If repair is needed, computer users can leave equipment at the Health Sciences Walk-in Help Desk and pick it up later at the DoIT Help Desk at 1210 W. Dayton St.

The new Tech Store and Help Desk opened on July 29. Hours are 7:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
