How to appeal a parking ticket (citation)
To avoid late penalties, Transportation Services must receive a payment or appeal for a citation issued on the UW-Madison campus within 10 days of the citation date.
Option 1: Appeal online
- Log in to the eBusiness parking portal.
- If you have a NetID or UW Health ID: choose Employee or Student Login.
- If you do not have a NetID or UW Health ID: choose Guest Login.
- If you have a NetID or UW Health ID: choose Employee or Student Login.
- Click CITATIONS on the top menu to begin the appeal or payment process. Follow the prompts to complete your appeal or payment.
Submit a bond payment (if required)

- If you logged in as a Guest, you will be required to submit a cash bond in the amount of the citation with the appeal. You may need to log back in to the guest account after paying the bond to complete the appeal. If the citation is upheld, the bond amount will be forfeited. If the citation is dismissed, the bond amount will be refunded.
- If you logged in with a NetID or UW Health ID, bond payment is not required for a first-level appeal.
- If you logged in as a Guest, you will be required to submit a cash bond in the amount of the citation with the appeal. You may need to log back in to the guest account after paying the bond to complete the appeal. If the citation is upheld, the bond amount will be forfeited. If the citation is dismissed, the bond amount will be refunded.
Option 2: Appeal in person
Submit an appeal form or a written appeal in person at a Transportation Services office location.
