Track the UW accessible shuttle in a web browser

This document explains how to set up an account and track the UW accessible shuttle on the Here Comes the Bus website.

Step 1: Create an account on the Here Comes the Bus website

  1. Go to herecomesthebus.com and click Login on the top right corner of the page.

  2. Click Sign Up Today!

  3. The next step will ask for a school district code. Click I have the code.

  4. Enter your email address, first and last name, and school code 29011. Check the box to accept the Terms of Use and click Submit.

  5. The next step will ask you to confirm that you are registering with the University of Wisconsin. Click Confirm.

  6. Create and re-enter a new password, then click Submit.

  7. Check the inbox of the email account you registered for a confirmation message and click "Activate My Account" to complete the registration process. You will be automatically redirected to the Here Comes the Bus login page.

Step 2. Add the UW accessible shuttle to your account

  1. After creating an account, go to herecomesthebus.com and log in with your email address and school code 29011.

  2. When logged in, click the My Account tab at the top of the page.

  3. Find the "My Students" box and click Add.

  4. A popup box will appear with a prompt to add a student last name and ID. Do not enter your last name or ID in these fields: instead, in the "student last name" field, type in shuttle. In the Student ID field, type in 1848. Then click Save.

  5. "Shuttle Shuttle" will now appear in the "My Students" box. Next, click the Activities tab at the top of the page.

  6. Click Add Activity.

  7. Click the text box under "Search for Activities." Do not type anything in this box. Place the mouse cursor in the text box and press "Enter." The UW Accessible Circulator Shuttle will appear underneath the search bar. Click Add.

  8. You will now be able to locate the approximate shuttle location by clicking the Map tab at the top of the page.

Step 3. Set up custom notifications

  1. After creating an account and adding the UW accessible shuttle to the account, go to herecomesthebus.com and log in with your email address and school code 29011.

  2. Click the Activities tab on the top of the page. Click Add Notification.

  3. Adjust the time, day, and notification triggers to your preferences. Then click Add New Zone.

  4. Create a unique name for the zone. Then click and drag the map and adjust the slider to create a zone on the UW campus within the purple area. (Tips: Entering a specific address in the search bar does not always yield helpful results, and a smaller zone is likely to be more helpful than a larger zone.)

    Depending on your notification settings, you will receive email alerts when the shuttle enters and/or leaves this zone. Then click Add.

Note: To receive shuttle notifications on your mobile device, you must set up notifications on the Here Comes the Bus mobile app.
