How do I setup the GlobalProtect VPN client on macOS/OS X?

Installation of VPN on Apple devices
  1. First, begin by downloading and installing the Palo Alto GlobalProtect Client for Apple. DoIT has instructions available at https://kb.wisc.edu/helpdesk/page.php?id=73116.

  2. After installing the client you will see a gray globe at the top of your Finder menu bar. Click on this and enter uwmadison.vpn.wisc.edu as the portal address.

  3. Click Connect and enter your NetID username and password when prompted.

  4. When prompted for MFA (multi-factor authentication) press 1 and enter for a push to your default device or enter the code from your token or phone.

  5.  You will then be connected to the Science Hall and the UW Madison campus networks.
