WiscIT - Roles Overview

This document describes what roles are in Ivanti Neurons and which roles are available.

What are roles in WiscIT?

Roles in Ivanti Neurons determine how a user will experience the tool. Roles drive the following aspects:

  • The interface a user loads into (Analyst or self-service)

  • The workspaces that are available to a user

  • The layout (form, grid, toolbars, tabs, etc.) a given workspace uses

  • The permissions (Create/View/Update/Delete) a user has been granted for each object

  • The searches, dashboards, and quick actions that are available

Which Roles are in WiscIT?

Service Technologist

The Service Technologist roles is the "default" role for the analyst interface. It is designed for operational work, e.g. working incidents and service requests or filing change requests. This role is granted automatically to any user that is a member of at least one team.

Self-service

The self-service role opens WiscIT in the self-service portal interface. Every person with a record in the tool is granted the self-service role.

SNCC Technologist

The SNCC Technologist role is designed to focus more on Problems, Outages, and Events.

Cybersecurity Analyst

The Cybersecurity Analyst role is for CSOC staff.

ITSM Manager

The ITSM manager role is for ITSM team and Service Transition members to have edit rights to most items in the CMDB.

Table Manager

The Table Manager role is for users to maintain validation tables that drive field validations in objects or request offerings.

Search and Dashboard Manager

The Search and Dashboard Manager role allows a uesr to publish searches and dashboards to other roles.

Help Desk Phone Agent

The Help Desk Phone Agent role is for Help Desk staff working phone shifts.

Help Desk Email Agent

The Help Desk Email Agent role is for Help Desk staff working chat/email shifts.

Help Desk Quality Assurance Agent

The Help Desk Quality Assurance Agent role is for Help Desk staff working HDQA shifts.

Help Desk Onsite Agent

The Help Desk Onsite Agent role is for Help Desk staff working Onsite shifts.

Help Desk CPS Agent

The Help Desk Phone CPS role is for Help Desk CPS staff.
