WiscWeb - Accessibility resources
Here are a few ways we are working to improve the accessibility of our service:
- As co-authors of UW Theme 2.0 (along with the Office of Strategic Communication's Digital Strategy team), we hire developers with a passion for accessibility.
- We work closely with the Center for User Experience to identify areas of improvement in UW Theme 2.0 and to provide guidance and training on building accessible websites.
- When found, we relay concerns over the accessibility of plugins directly to the external developers/vendor and request immediate remediation on behalf of UW-Madison.
- We prioritize accessibility barriers in our development cycles and make sure issues are remedied as quickly as possible.
Note: Responsibility for accessibility falls upon the site owners and editors. WiscWeb is not responsible for ensuring that service sites meet the accessibility policy. Also, WiscWeb does not evaluate or audit websites for accessibility.
